We have pre-cana tonight and tomorrow at Our Lady of Hope in Carle Place. I am sooo nervous and I have no idea why. I think it's because I dont know what to expect at all, and also because it's 3 hours long, so if it's awful it's gonna a LOOOONG night.
Anyone else doing it there this weekend?
Anyone wanna share their experience with pre-cana and tell me what to expect?
It's in our church's basement... can i wear jeans and a tshirt?

Are you doing the weekend one?
If you are its not that bad. its alot less awkward than the long Pre-cana where go go to a couples house for a few weeks.
They talk about typical things in marriage life from the meaning of family and general things. It does seem long but in group ones you aren't pressured to participate, we just listened.

we are going tonight for 3 hours and then tomorrow we go from 3-5 and sit at the 5pm mass and that's it.
we have a very small parish so i'm worried that it's just going to be us and like one other couple.
my brother went for 6 weeks, and wound up becoming really good friends with one of the couples. they still hang out now and it's been a few years. i liked that idea, but since it's only two days i dont really see that happening here...
do you think jeans and tshirts are okay? i dont want to look like we arent taking it seriously, but i also dont want to 'dress up' and have it be super casual since it's in the church basement.

I think jeans and a shirt is just fine, its more like a small congregation and most people go comfortable. I wore Jeans and a white top. nothing out of the ordinary.
and if it is the weekend Pre-cana you are most likely not going to make quick friends although everyone is really friendly. the long Pre-cana is good for developing long term friendships with people that can be mentors and good source of advice.
