Pre Cana Tonight! Question...

Pre Cana Tonight! Question...

FH and I start pre cana tonight. I can't complain too much since we only have to go twice for two hours each time!

For those of you that live with FH - did you tell them that you live together?

When we met with our priest we didn't have this problem since we didn't live together yet. I don't want to lie, but at the same time I don't want to spend 4 hours being told I'm going to hell!

Re: Pre Cana Tonight! Question...

We are moving in together the week we start Pre-Cana in May. We registered our marriage at the church with two separate addresses because at the time that was true, if it comes up we will tell Monsignor that we have just moved into our home that week. That's my decision, do you know your clergy person at all? If they are open minded, they may not even ask to avoid making you uncomfortable. It's totally up to you.

we told our priest we lived together, some ppl don't have a problem with it and i don't really think its a big deal but i agree about what kind of priest you have. some of them have an issue but they can't say anything really. just a mini lecture that you might have to deal with

Is your priest doing your pre cana?

At our church a couple that is part of the parish does it.

The couple that did our precana asked us if we live together...at the exact same time I answered 'Yes' and FH answered 'No' hahaha! They didn't care either way!

They never asked us at our PreCana, but if they did, I would have told the truth, but only because the couple we had were very cool and non-judgemental.

Our pre cana was pretty 'liberal' -- the host couple had us go around the room and ask us if any of us were living together and out of like 10 couples, 9 were already living together (including us). It wasn't a big deal at all. It was more out of curiosity than a judgment. The priest did not ask us. I think they assume that these days the majority of engaged couples live together before they get married.

keep it simple and don't volunteer any info. I'm pretty sure priests are caught up w/ the times bu don' take that chance.

'you're not supposed to live together' and if you do its like cardinal sin..shhhh don't tell

Re: Pre Cana Tonight! Question...

the couple that is doing our pre-cana told us in the very first session that whatever happens in pre-cana will not leave the room. The couple who is running pre-cana happens to be the deacon (who will be performing our wedding) and his wife. They know some of the couples live together and it's not a big deal.

He never outright asked if anyone lived together.
