Pre-Cana Update!! (warning really long!)

Its over with!!
Let me tell you girls/guys it really wasnt all too bad, Actually, surprisingly enjoyable.

This is the one in Douglaston- Immaculate Conception - 2 day
Last night- we met in the chapel and there was a short prayer service and then priest went over the reasons why we were there. We then met the couple who was running it. They were a very nice husband and wife, married 34 years.

We started out by writing a love letter to fh/fw which we didnt show to the other person till today. My FH was fighting this all the way and said he didnt need for someone to tell him to write a love letter to me when he can do it at anytime. After calming him down and telling him to go with the flow and we can make anything fun as long as we do it together, he gave in.

So today- they gave us a small breakfast of bagels/rolls and coffee or tea. It started at 9:00 and we had 3 subjects we went over in the morning. They gave us a workbook and after each subject we each ans the question and discussed our ans with each other. The 3 morning subjects were
communication, our arguing behavior- discovering each other

they then gave us lunch, which surprised me. Ziti, meatballs, salad, string beans and pies.

The afternoon was another 3 subjects. Expectations- spiritual part of marriage and family planning. Ours was over by 3:00

I need to tell you all- not that I had doubts - which i didn't- but since I had a horrible first marriage I was very apprehensive and scared. But since leaving Pre-cana I totally know I am making the right decision.
This was the best thing I have done.

Take it from me- if FH and I enjoyed it, you guys will too

Re: Pre-Cana Update!! (warning really long!)

Thanks for your review on Pre-Cana. I have been worrying about this a little bit. My FH would most definitely have the same reaction as yours did towards the love letter. I keep explaining to him that we are CHOOSING to marry in a Catholic church and this is part of it (just like exchanging money, pre-cana is a payment in a sense) They are not telling us what to do we chose this. I think he will be OK once its all said and done. I am glad your experience was a good one and I hope we benefit the way you guys did.
