So I asked earlier about pre-cana and focus at st. pats in bay shore.
I called and got us in for FOCUS for July 11 2009, but pre-cana isn't until December.. and we were hoping to do it a little earlier.
So We were told we could go anywhere that would take us, I've heard the one at SJB is a lot of fun.
I want something like in license to wed but know that's not going to happen.
So my question-
where did you go for pre-cana? what was it like? how long was it? how much did it cost? all info appreciated!

In Queens you go online/register pay $160-195 and they have a bunch of classes. Iam going next weekend in Douglaston. Friday from like 7:30-9pm and Sat 9am-5pm link

i cant remember the exact location, but thru the church they gave us a location to go, i believe it was on shelter rock road...
Honestly i heard a lot of horror stories about pre-cana but me and FH actually liked it! we are not crazy religious people or anything like that. it was basically just a bunch of couple talking about their life experiences...they got us talking about stuff regarding marriage and whos going to do the bills, and discussing things you didnt even thing about discussing. it was almost like pre marriage counceling.
ours was 3 hours long for 3 sunday nights.
we paid $80

We went to a church in our area (Westchester) It cost $195 Two Days (Sat.-Sun. 9:30 -5:00 each day)
It was very long. Some of it was helpful/interested but most of it repetitive.

where did you go for pre-cana? * my church in Valley Stream
what was it like? * not too bad. Could've been worse. Each night there was a different speaker
how long was it? * 2 Thursday nights, 2 hours each....a total of 6 hours
how much did it cost? * $75

This is where we went too. It was good - the couple had some interesting stories to tell and the whole session was really focused on us learning more about each other.
Lola - the couple we had said they were doing it again in June. Their names were Edwin and Leslie - and they were great.
