Has anyone done Pre Cana with the person marrying them? Since my church is about an hour away we wont be able to go to the normal pre cana. My deacon said he would just do it with us because he would rather that then going to a weekend one. I was wondering if anyone has done this or if you think it would be wierd to do it with the person marrying us? I am not really sure how 'deep' you get in it, so I just want to make sure it wont be wierd. Thanks

Re: Pre Cana with Deacon??
We're getting married in Nassau County, but actually did our pre-cana through the Queens Diocese (our parish could not accomodate our crazy schedules). We did a one day pre-cana with a deacon and his wife at their home. We were a little nervous at first, but it really wasn't that bad. No personal questions were asked of us; general topics were discussed and then my FH and I filled out separate questionnaires and then compared answers. (The deacon and his wife did not look at our answers--my FH and I compared them and talked about them privately). All-in-all, it was a pretty good day. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask! Happy planning! Diane
