Has anyone ever heard of having pre-cana with the priest? We have a meeting with ours in November but I don't know if it's actually pre-cana or just a meeting.
FH says he's never heard of another married couple hosting pre-cana before, he says it's a NY thing but he says that about a lot of things he doesn't understand. (We live in CT.)

I bet it's just a meeting. Pre Cana, I'm almost positive, is only conducted by a married couple(s).

It's probably a meeting. We met with our priest and no joke were in the meeting for like a 2 hours. You might want to eat first. my FH was dying. He was discussing why it's important to get married in the church,wedding stories and then we spoke about pre-cana.

I just did pre cana thi past weekend and it was conducted by two married couples and a deacon (who was also married). It was a total of 10 hours between two day and we never had to meet with anyone outside of that. But, many churches do it differently. Try asking someone who's gotten married in your church before what their procedure was.

We met w/our priest 2x and precana was totally seperate.

We had to do 2 Saturdays with married couples as the speakers (as well as the priests) and we have to meet with the priest a bunch of times as well and go over the FOCUS test.

We had to do a FOCUS exam online to see how compatible we were and to see if there were certain issues we should discuss (like finances, kids, careers, etc.). Then we met with two other couples and a deacon. We were there for 12 hours between Fri. and Sat. It wasn't so bad and is a good learning experience for some people that haven't talked different subjects over.

I forgot about the FOCUS exam, I just thought that was part of pre-cana.
