I have to go to Foccus this Sat. Does anyone know what this is about?

Re: Pre-Cana/Foccus
its basically a compatibility test to see how much you and your FH agree on certain topics. dont worry, if you dont 'pass' it it doesnt mean they wont marry you. it's about 150 questions and it takes a few weeks to 'grade' it. you'll get a call to schedule an appointment with a married couple from your Parish to discuss the topics you didnt agree on. it was interesting i guess...

Is it the one at the Seminary in Huntington? If so, I'm going to that one too.

I don't have to do it at St. Christopher's.... I think only some parishes do it.. they have the option whether or not to do it.

Yup that's the one! I was happy we got that choice, the only other one we could do was out in the Hamptons

Re: Foccus
For those of you who want to know about Foccus here is the update of when we went to it on Sat.
There were about 4 couples, that’s including ourselves, who had to sit around a table and fill out a scantron type of paper with our information. We were not able to look at eachothers answers, and we had to sit across from eachother. There were about 150 questions (maybe a few more) all in mixed up order regarding finance, religion, family, future family, personality traits etc. For our situation, there were a few additional questions for Interfaith Religion. Also, there were a few additional questions for you if you are currently living together and if this is your second marriage.
When we were done we were able to leave. We go back next Sat. to see how they “graded” us.
I think that is when we sit down with eachother and talk about our feelings about the questions and why we both felt a certain way in answering and maybe open our eyes a little more to see how the other half feels about certain issues.
It actually felt good walking out. I am curious to see how Sat. goes. It’s a good way for the line of communication to open.
