Hey girls, Darren and I finished pre-cana last night. We found it very informative, and learned alot. Actually it was a breeze, we enjoyed it. My priest is a pissa, so that helped too!! We went from 3-6 on Saturday, and 7-9 on Sunday. We also did VERY well on the FOCCUS survey, and the one thing we didn't agree on, we're going out to dinner to discuss. I'm glad it's over with. On to more planning

yea for the most part i hear its a good experience! I dont think I have to do it since were getting married in a GO church

FH and I did our pre-cana this weekend as well. We did it on Friday from like 7:30-9:00 and then on Saturday from 9am-3pm. It was actually a lot of fun and the couple leading the group was great.

I thought FOCCUS was great. We did FOCCUS before we're doing Pre Cana, and the deacon was right-we started talking about questions we hadn't talked about yet. We spent the car ride home talking about a lot. So I'm looking forward to getting our results too! Congrats on getting Pre Cana done!

My church is 8:30 to 4:00 on Sat and 8:30 followed by 11:30 Mass on Sunday. Why does mine seem so long? Anyone else as long as mine?

I don't know why some are longer than others. But we discussed possible issues the first day for like an hour, took the Foccus survey, which should take anywhere from 30 -40 minutes, and then had the option of going to confession if we finished early. I already did that when my son was making his communion this past May, but Darren finished a bit later than me, so he didn't make it. They have confession many times a week, so thats no big deal. After the survey we went to 5PM mass. The following day, we further discussed issues of marriage, inlaws, children, 'friends' etc and the they handed out our results. Not bad at all.

Callan Where are you getting married? Saint Mary's, or no? It's such an eye opening experience, thats all I can say.
