We did Pre-Cana last December and loved it. We did the whole day Saturday Pre-Cana.

Re: Pre- Kana
I just started Pre-Cana last weekend.... every Church does it differently but the way it went at mine was that we met with about 4 other engaged couples, 2 married couples, a priest and a deacon. We sat around and listened to why you have to do pre-cana and what we should expect in the next few weeks.
Next we meet in smaller groups with the married couples once a week for four more sessions. I guess that's when it really starts because the first meeting kinda felt like an orientation.

Re: Pre- Kana
We did ours last Saturday and it was terrible. Our church doesn't offer it so we went somewhere else. I was really looking forward to it and it was this old coiple that gave us really outdated, boring advice. I hope yours is better

Re: Pre- Kana
We finished ours last night here in Manhattan. Can honestly say that we didn't get anything out of it. Everyone there was complaining. We actually had an entire session (one of three) devoted to an investment banker as a speaker. His topic? His former life as an investment banker, how much money he made and the evils of birth control!!! Told us we should use it under any circumstances because it oppresses women. We were very disappointed and so were the other couples. he wasn't even provacative. Just boring. Seemed like he was a nice guy but a little behind the times for someone who was only in his early 50s.
Luckily we got to miss a session because FH broke his leg and was in the hospital. He said te broken leg was a small price to pay for missing Pre Cana!! Just kidding. Honestly - I think we got stuck. everyone else likes it - just not the people who went to the church we did. I was really hoping we would get good speakers

Re: Pre- Kana
We had a very enjoyable experience. 2 married hosts couples and 5 engaged couples. It was very low key and casual. We had 3 sunday evening sessions, about 6 hours in total.

Re: Pre- Kana
Ours was one day - it started at 9:30 AM and ended at 3:30 (an hour early). It was so terrible though. Whay is the church so stuck in the past?
