Pre-Marital Investigation?

Pre-Marital Investigation is where you and FH sit down with priest and talk about things like your reltationship, your family life, your dreams for the future, your relationship with the church.

Pre-Cana is where you talk about relationships and marriage with a group of other couples.

My priest really tells me nothing...he just said its booked ....call me in October!

We are not doing a church wedding. My girl never made her communion. Do we still have to go through these two things?

If your not getting married in a church I'd say no...I am getting married in a catholic church and I have never made my communion, they said it was ok...and we have pre-cana only..they asked us a few basic questions when we met with them, but mostly like....were you forced to get married etc..'

Some churchs are different then others..

They just ask you questions like how often do you go to church...are you ready to commit and be faithful to one person for the rest of your life and this one was my favriote - are you and your FI related in anyway

They asked us the same questions... and if we were related!!

My church is a little wacko! We had to do the premarital investigation thing (which they asked us if we were related also!! ), then we had to take a FOCUS test (we get the same questions and we had to give our own responses to each, then we met with a couple from the parish and discussed our responses and how compatable our responses were with one another). Then we have pre-cana. I'm like, 'Ok, we get it...we should be compatable before we get married!'

We have to get documents signed and notorized that state that we are not related and that we have not been married before.
It is a little nuts!
