Tell her to get a doctors note to be safe. Some Spas require it.

Re: Pre-Natal Massage Question
I used a spa once while I was preggers. Alot of places wont do it b/c the kneading of the skin and muscles, extremeties can cause some problems, that might not happen to a person who isnt preggers (ie inproperly massaging a person's foot can cause them to stop urinating. NO Joke it can happen) Your best bet find out their policies, if not get it for her and she can use it as a RUN_AWAY MOMMY Gift! LOL

Really? I guess it depends on the place and their policies. And what type of massage you're getting as well.

Re: Pre-Natal Massage Question
She can go up until she gives birth but it is recomended that a licensed pre-natal massage therapist do the massage, not just a regular massage therapist. You can actually start to induce labor if you massage certain pressure points in a women's body if your not careful. Also, usualy after 7 months they are massaged on their sides because they can't lay on their stomachs and it is not recomended they lay flat on their back!!!
My sister had prenatal massages 1X/week all through her pregnancy!! SHE LOVED IT!!!

Re: Pre-Natal Massage Question
They will not/should not massage her within the first trimester. According to my training, it's contraindicated since that is usually the most risky portion of the pregnancy. After that it's OK and very good for both mommy and baby!! I'm a Licensed Massage Therapist and have done prenatal massage

Re: Pre-Natal Massage Question
A friend of mine had one and they did it where there was a special table or something for the belly to fit into so that she was still in a stomach down position but no pressure was on the belly. I think it's a sweet gift honestly!

Re: Pre-Natal Massage Question
I had one the night before I gave birth to my son. AMAZING. Def recommend it. If you need to know of a place, my massage therapist is also a license Doula, so she's highly qualified for the prego peeps.
