How many of you are doing them and what is your feeling on them? If your FH asked you to get one, would you be offended?

Re: pre-nups?
different people do them for different reasons - if FH is a partner in a business or firm, etc.
i would not and will not have one - and I'm the one that makes more $$
Hmmmm, maybe i should ask FH to sign one - LOL

Re: pre-nups?
We aren't doing one. We already own a home together. We already discussed finances and such so we are both fine without one.

Re: pre-nups?
neither of us have much money going in, so there really would be no point.if we were each 10 years older, with houses and savings ect...i think i would probably seriously consider it, especially if children of previous marriage were involved. but if FH was particularly cheap or protective of his money or stuff now, maybe i would think twice but thats not the case.

Re: pre-nups?
We talked about it a few times.
At first, I was SUPER defensive and thought that it was a bad omen and signified thinking about divorce before marriage.
But, after thinking about it, its a really smart idea. I have nothing, but I thought maybe he would want to have one...
We decided against it, but I think its a smart idea for anyone who has assets.
If you're secure in your relationship, I don't think its a bad idea at all.

Re: pre-nups?
He hasn't brought it up and I don't think I'd be offended if he did...but then again, that's easy for me to say being that he hasn't asked...I don't think we're even thinking about prenups either...we're both poor college students...

Re: pre-nups?
we're both broke. i'm an actressr, he's a comedian who acts as well. Right now we don't need one, it'd actually be pretty silly since we have nothing. I wouldnt be offended since a lot of prenups actually protect BOTH parties involved. So if something happened and we seperated i'd be taken care of without the mess of a hard/mean divorce. Or vice versa.
I think they're great. but they don't work or arent needed by everyone.

Re: pre-nups?
Im getting one. Im researching lawyers now. I have no real money but FH plays in the NFL. I think that it protects both of you. Without one you may get a judge who splits everything in half or you may get judge who says well if you didnt make any of this money you dont deserve any, and then you will be left with nothing. So with one atleast you know whats already what going into the marriage and in the sad case of a divorce things wont have to be so dirty. Since Ive been researching alot on it FM me if you have more questions.

Re: pre-nups?
FH talked about getting a pre-nup all the time before we got engaged. He said he wouldn't get married until I agreed to on, which I was offended by at 1st. He doesn't want me to get half his pension if anything ever happened. But he hasn't mentioned anything about it since we got engaged so I'm not gonna bring it up!!!

Re: pre-nups?
I worked in a divorce firm for 7 years...all through college and law school. My view is that EVERYONE should get a prenup (as long as there is something to protect). Life is very funny...
I may say that I would never touch my FH's assets if we get divorced (GOD FORBID) butttt the truth is, there are a lot of emotions running through you at the time of divorce and nobody, NOBODY, knows how they are going to react to a divorce....so I'm always pro pre-nup b/c it protects both parties....especially if it's unfortunate and you have to go through a divorce later on.

Re: pre-nups?
We're not getting one. FH makes more money then I do plus his parents are worth a buttload so if anyone would be concerned it should be him. But he doesnt want one. IMO, it kind of puts a divider between 2 people when things like that are introduced. If God forbid anything should ever happen, we'll deal with it then. But if it doesn't then why go through the trouble of all that for nothing?!

Re: pre-nups?
We're not doing one, we both don't really have much right now so anything we build, we'll be building together...if one of has had something at stake maybe it would be different
