pre-wedding review and still needed.....

pre-wedding review and still needed.....

everyone reviews their vendors after they get married....i figured i'd try something new.

Photography: Thomas Paul. So far so good....i had a lot of photog drama with another guy (FM me for details bc he pulls posts he gets bad reviews on supposidly) and when i met TP we clicked and i love his work and can't wait to work with him.

Flowers: Flower Shoppe of Farmingdale (Jeanette)....went to HS with her...she's always been a very creative person and I would strongly reccommend her. She's very accomodating and she def. knows how to make things POP.
My sister is also using her for her November wedding.

DJ: Tommy's Tunes. Very accomodating!!! He's located a little far from me so he's been really great with mailing and faxing stuff to me so i don't have to drive an hour to see him all the time. We got the deluxe package and will have a percussionist and steel drums for cocktail hour.
We also got someone he knows whBo does Billy Joel music for the dinner and dance with my dad. It's something that was really really impt to me bc i'm a huge fan and really wanted something special for my dad too. It took a lot of work, but so far the guy he got is great and a pleasure to work with.

Dress: Davids Bridal. So far they have been great. My gown came in 3 months earlier then expected. It was immaculate (i inspected it like crazy!!) and i haven't had any issues. I have heard iffy things about alterations so i will not be using them for my fittings.

Bridal Reflections Massapequa: Hard to work with. All the times i was available to come in they were booked and didn't seem to care or go out of their way to get me in to look at BM dresses.

Favorshop.com: awesome!!! I ordered mini STD stickers to go with my STD's. I should be getting them soon and will post pics.

Hallmark Farmingdale: great!! I ordered both my STD's and engagement invites through them. I got so many compliments!!!

Vistaprint.com: ordered printed menus for engagement party. So adorable and so cheap!

findafavor.com: ordered my favors for engagement party. cute little sailboat heart picture frames that i used as place cards for the party. everyone thought they were cute. Service was great.

glamgal.com: ordered headpiece from her. It was not so great looking (see hair trial #1) so i had to send it back. she is very hard to get in touch with and takes forever to return calls or emails. When she e-mails she rarely answers all of your questions. not reccomended unless you are 100% sure of what you want.

Oksana: what can i say??? i love her. she had me hysterical laughing during my makeup trial and she did a beautiful job. It was exactly what i wanted.

Jenn the Hair Genie: Even though i wasn't crazy about the trial, i'm booking with her. I am trying to set up a 2nd trial soon. I'll post pics. Her extensions are amazing and totally affordable!!

St. Killians: my church haha....the only thing i don't like is that we can't throw flowers. I begged my priest and he still said No. lol oh well.

Lombardi's on The Sound: Nicole is great!!! She is really helping me get everything to fall into place to have the wedding of my dreams. The food is amazing (def. go to one of the shows they have if you can!!) and so is the view!!
Only 1 wedding at a time which is crucial for me.

Courtyard Marriot in Ronkonkoma: Gina is amazing!!!! I wasn't able to get there for an appt but we did everything over the phone and she is awesome. They are very accomodating and the place is gorgeous. I finally went after i booked and it is immaculate.

Sheraton in Hauppauge: I am less then satisfied. They are stingy on the amt of rooms the will let you block and you have to beg and plead for everything. Kind of frustrating.

Still need:

Limo
BM dresses
Tuxs
Shoes
Hair Piece

HTH someone. This is a really strussful time sometimes and dealing with a 1/2asssed vendor just makes it worse. If anyone can reccomend someone for what i still need i'd appreciate it!!

Is the flower shoppe in farmingdale on Merritts rd. in a little shopping center by any chance?

ETA: Oooh yay we're church twins. I heard we can't throw any rose petals but I wasn't really thinking about doing any throwing of anything so it's no boggie for me.

I actually met with her a whilllllle back when I was looking around for everything right when we got engaged, she was very nice but a little pricey for exactly what I wanted.

love hte reveiw ... i am getting married at St. Killians too ... i was also kind of pset tha you cant throw flowers down the asile ... my MOH told me she was going to jsut pay the FG to throw them down anyway ... also when i went to first look at the church they were having a quienceda thing (whatever is called) and we saw flowers down the aisle so you may be able to get a way with it
