PRECANA!!!!!

I am getting married in Brooklyn but since my FI lives in Long island and he works for LIRR I need to do Precana in Long Island and cant do it in the weekend.
Where can I do it? He lives in BEllmore.

Call the Diocese of Rockville Ctr. They will mail you a list of the churches and schedules for precana. You can also call St Catherine's of Sienna in Franklin Square. That's where we are getting married and I know that they take couples outside of the church for precana.

You can basically go to any Catholic Church. I'm getting married in Melville but now live out east and I went to a church closer to my house. You just have to give a copy of your completion form to the church your getting married in. The pre-cana was a lot shorter where I went, so we lucked out. So keep that in mind when looking for a church, make sure that it fits your schedule. My church even gave us a list of churchs to go too. So you should also ask your parish.

Just so you know the churches in Nassau are a little crazy. As much as this is true and you should be able to go to any catholic church, they may not let you. I was supposed to get married at another church but it was cancelled b/c of precana. The church only does precana for their members and will not let you go outside of the parrish for it. They only had precana available in Oct and I am travelling for work. Needless to say I had to find another church b/c they would not marry us if we attended precana anywhere else. The Diocese in Rockville Ctr really helped us out.

Strange because the list that my church gave us was for both Nassau and Suffolk. And we ended up picking a church that was not on the list. I guess it depends on the Pastor at the church. They make all the rules for that parish, I guess.

Rockville Center Diacese. It is a little more expensive I was told, but I am not sure.
