Precana

So being the anal bride that I am I decided to make sure we're signed up for precana during a time that works well for US..... well apparently the catholic church wants us to take it closer to our wedding....regardless of our schedules...or that's what the lady on the phone said....so after 10 minutes of explaining to her that the January and April dates don't work for us due to our work schedules and that this October would be better since FH has off...she finally says that it's okay.....

When I called the Pre Cana people at my church, after they sent me a postcard asking me to call them, they were like 'Why are you calling us now? Your wedding is so far away.' I was like

That’s great my church is no help I called to find out when I can have my rd so I can book a place and they said to call back next july!

And I asked about pre cana too they said to come by next feb to get a schedule I can’t do anything jan-april. I want to do it now so I can get it done with

That's weird....The priest marrying us at St Aidan's told us to 'get it out of the way'. He wanted us to do the Oct09 course when we are getting married in Sept2010.

Cathy, is this a church in GC? St Roccos?

i did mine in april. when we told the group when were getting married, tehy all looked at us wierd. cuz most of them were getting married in 1 or 2 months. i couldnt handle the stress of having to wait that long.

my priest too told us to get it out of the way as early as possible.

however we are not listening & waiting until our priest does it in March. i heard rumors that he gives out some paperwork, has you read it, ask if you have any questions & lets you leave in 15 minutes.

yea I got the same thing....your wedding isn't until next year...BLAH...lol

I so want to get it out of the way now...I hope we don't have to wait!

Good for you for insisting on doing it now.
