Do you find that they give you a significant discount or deal?
ETA: I should clarify...the list of preferred vendors that your venue gives you (photographers, DJ's, Limo, hotels, etc.) Do you find that when you contact these people, that they give you a significant discount on their services?

For my venue they were 1/2 price. However the Lessings venues I looked at preferred vendors were free and all other vendors were 1/2 price or 1/3 price I think.

Vendors eat at our venue for 1/3 off, no matter if they're house vendors or outside. I also found out that vendors who are house vendors aren't necessarily the best or the ones who know the venue best, but the ones willing to pay. They pay a large lump sum to the venue initially (I heard around $20K for some venues) and then they pay the venue for each client they book from that venue also. Just do your research on the vendors who are 'rocommended'

Yes they did give us a discount especially when we went to a showcase at our venue and then made an appointment with them

The only deal I was offered was by my venue since house vendors eat for free, everyone else is half priced. When I contacted the list of preferred vendors they don't offer me any deals/discounts, they just kept reminding me they were the preferred vendor. For us, it was cheaper to use our own vendors and pay for them to eat then using the recommended ones.

I am using my venue's preferred florist, so they waived the delivery fee. So far, I haven't booked/met with any other preferred vendors. Some, I am not too interested in based on reviews!
