Having only miscarried last week, I'm not trying yet. But I was curious how long any of you ladies waited after the loss to try and get pregant or actually got pregnant. Thanks!

Re: Pregnancy after miscarriage?
I have had a misscarriage, have not yet been pregnant again but I have a close friend at work who had two misscarriages with 6 months of each other, the last one being 6 months agao as well and she just announced she is ten weeks pregnant( so I guess she waited 3 months)....her hormones are quadrupling every day and she has never made this far so the dr's are pretty sure this is her time to finally have a baby...hope that helps a little...I think you should wait till you at least get a normal perios and maybe two( at the very least....making it about 3 months)

My SIL had a miscarriage and I think they suggested she wait 2-3 months until she try again.

Re: Pregnancy after miscarriage?
I had a miscarriage in February and we just recently found out I am now pregnant. My Dr. told us to wait 2 normal cycles. I know how hard it is to go through wait you have been through, you just have to think everything happens for a reason Best of luck to you and your DH!!!!

First off..I am so sorry to hear that you miscarried. I know ts not easy and my thoughts are with all of you who have had one. Now to asnwer your question, my sister unfortuantely has had four miscarriages, they found out that they were forming too many chromosomes and the baby was aborting itself, very sad..anyhow...each time the Doc told them to wait three months before they could start trying again. So each time, they took vacation..they have traveled the world now!! But they finally have a beautiful baby boy!!! Best of luck to you all!!!!

Re: Pregnancy after miscarriage?
AS you might remember, my miscarriage 2 weeks ago was very complicated and we cannot TTC until September because of the shot they gave me. They want to make sure it is out of my system. I wish I could ttc now. The waiting period is going to kill me!
But, in your case, I would wait 2 cycles. Although, I know of women who get pregnant the following cycle.

Re: Pregnancy after miscarriage?
I miscarried in February, and we have not started trying again, and to be honest I am not sure we ever will! That was too much for me, and I don't think I could emotionally handle it again. If God gives us a baby, fine but I don't think I want to actively try again.

Swags- I agree with you that having such a loss is unbearable. but for me, never having a child would be a 100 times more painful. But I do think it will be a couple of months before I 'try.' If it happens naturally, then perhaps it will be meant to be.

Re: Pregnancy after miscarriage?
I think that we, especially DH would have a hard time not having a child. I have my students they have always been my kids. I am starting to lean towards adoption. I know a little ridiculous to give up after one bad thing but I am just to petrified of going through it again. I know that if I ever get pregnant again I would be a basketcase the whole time.

I had a stillborn 7 years ago, followed by a misscarriage 3 years ago...both were horrible terrifying experiences but I too cant imagine NOT having children and cant wait to start trying again...if god forbid it doesnt work out I will make it thru somehow...It's in god's hands I guess...
I'm sory for everyone's losses..I know how hard it is, and I just get sad seeing anyone thinking of giving up after a loss....time helps...For me I've had a while to heal for both and I'm glad I did....thats why I say to take your time..though believe me, if I could have gotten pregnant the week after having my losses I would have said sign me up!!
A friend at work who had her misscarriage, had both one after the other...shes doing great now with her 3rd pregnancy but I think she might have been more emotionally ready had she given it a little more time...
BUT....in the end, only you know whats right for you, only you can know if you can wait or if the need is strong then go for it....Positive thoughts for happy healthy pregnancies for all of you!!!

Re: Pregnancy after miscarriage?
I had a miscarriage in Sept of 2002. We started trying again in December of 2002 and got PG again right away. We now have a healthy 9 month old baby girl.

Re: Pregnancy after miscarriage?
I had my miscarriage at the end of February. My Dr. told me to wait at least 6 weeks and then his partner told me to wait 2-3 months. we waited the 6 weeks and have been TTC since. Although I am petrified for when I do get pregnant, I need to keep trying, at least for now.

Re: Pregnancy after miscarriage?
You should really talk to your doctor. I know lots of women who's doctors tell them two wait two cycles but I mc/'d last month as well and my doctor checked me out and gave me the thumbs up to start trying right away again.

Re: Pregnancy after miscarriage?
Hi honey,
I miscarried in March. I had the DNC the end of March. My Dr. told me to wait 2-3 cycles but at least two. I got my period 5 weeks after the DNC (he told me I would get it 4-6 weeks, so it was pretty accurate when I got it). One cycle we did try, but didn't get preggo. We are trying this month and feel better about it because at least we know we listened to the Dr.
Time will pass fast, it did for me. And you will have a beautiful healthy baby. So many woman do after these things.
Hang in there, and if you want to talk, FM me, ok.

Re: Pregnancy after miscarriage?
I have to say I was at my MOH house and holding her 1 month old son, very strange for me, I don't hold little babies, and I was feeling much better.
When I saw him, when he was a couple of days old I was really depressed after we left her house, but this time I was holding him and playing with him. He is adorable and her girl is GORGEOUS! She is the perfect gerber I have always said she is!
But I still don't know. I still can't help but thinking that I would be 6 months pregnant right now

hang in there! I still 7 years later cannot go to a baby shower unless forced, its too hard for me, so we understand what it is like...some baby's Im ok with others not so much....last week was my 7 yr anniversary of my stillborn and my close friend at work came in to show off her baby that day ( she didnt know) I could have crawled under a desk and died! My thoughts are with you!

Re: Pregnancy after miscarriage?
I'm so sorry for your loss. I've never been through it myself, but my sister has recently been through some terirble things, so I wanted to put my two cents in on this one. As far as pain and loss, only you can really judge when you're ready, but physically, I'd really check with the gyn, to see if there was a reason for the miscarriage and what you can do to prevent it. My sister had a miscarriage, got pg again very shortly after and had another miscarriage. Now she's totally discouraged and thinks she'll never have children. There may or may not be some underlying issues, so I'd really investiagte everything I could before trying again. I don't want to anyone to have to go through what my sister has been through. One is traumatic enough, but two can send you over the edge.
