Does anyone know if there is any TRUTH whatsoever to this? My cousin [bridesmaid] was telling me that the boy chromsones die faster than the girls and that if u want a girl u should have sex every other day? Or having sex in a certain way will make a boy or girl . . . Is there any truth to this? Not trying anytime soon. Just very curious, cause when the time comes, I want to try for a girl!

I've never heard this, but I have heard that during certain times during the month you are more likely have a boy and at other times of the month you are more likely to have a girl. I'll try to look it up for you, but I dont know if there is actually any truth to it.

I've heard all the tales. There are many, like position during sex. But I don't actually know someone that can verify. So, who knows?

There is some truth, at least according to the books written by doctors, regarding the way that male and female sperm swim. I paid VERY little attention to that b/c I do not believe that we should have the option to pick the sex of a child.
I was reading that with certain forms of artifical insemination, you are more likely to get a boy. I believe it is b/c of faster swimming sperm and b/c the way the procedure is done, those sperm are more likely to win the race.

if you want a girl, you should ttc before ovulation, want a boy, ttc during... theres a book.. the shettles method or something like that!

I did hear that before and someone did tell me once the different positions to have a boy or girl, but I was not even engaged at the time so I was not really paying attention.

i read the thread. i had heard info on acid and alkaline environments and having either/or gender. i just couldn't remember which was which.

See, my cousin, TRIED EvRYTHING for a girl anf she got a girl! She went into such detail when I saw her last weekend for my bday and I just emailed her to ask her so I can post it here!

See, yes, Ive heard the girl sperm lives longer and the boy sperm dies faster BUT can't swim as fast, they're slower then the girl . . .

There quite honestly is no way to determine the sex of your child before conception. I even read up [for kicks after getting pregnant] on a method that helps you to have a boy or girl...the success rate of following the 'program' 100% was only 70-75% and that's based on people being honest. The requirements were crazy as well...sex on certain days of the week and in particular positions based on the day.., foods you could/couldn't eat, etc...

LOL< I know, DH wants a boy and he says he'd be upset if he had a girl. I'm like NOOO, ur not gunna be upset, ur gunna be so happy if you have either [cause u and me created it!!!!]
