Does anyone know anything about a rash you can get during your pregnancy. I started getting a rash a couple of days ago and it seems to be getting worse. It's not chicken pox or measles I'm sure about that. I thought at first it was just an alllergic reaction to something but now I'm not so sure. I have no fever or any other symptoms aside from the itchy rash. I did some research over the internet and apparently some women experience a rash during the late part of their pregnancies and most often on the first pregnancy. It goes away about 2 weeks after giving birth. This is my first but I'm only 14 weeks. I was just wondering if anyone has any information. I have an appointment to see my doctor tomorrow. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Re: Pregnancy Rash
My SIL had that rash with her first pregnancy. She was very uncomfortable and the only thing the doctor could give her was a cream.
I hope yours goes away quickly.

yes I know what it is!
It is called PUPPS...you get it when u r pregnant...usually tho in the last trimester. And you itch like crazy.
Good news is that it goes away once the baby comes. For me it went away right b4 my due date...but Julianne did not decide to arrive into this world until 2 weeks later!
Call your ObGYN and they will prescribe a presription strength hydrocortsone. This helped me a bit....and also not scratching in the first place! once I started I usually could not stop.
What also helped me is cold compresses to the effected area.,...and sleepeing with freezer packs on my feet!!
hope this helps!

Re: Pregnancy Rash
Thanks to the advice. It turns out my rash is an allergic reaction to something. Not sure exactly what though since I haven't used or eaten anything new. It seems that when you're pregnant however you're hormones and body is going through such a change that you may become allergic to something you weren't allergic to before. I was prescribed a lotion for the itchiness and zyrtec.

Re: Pregnancy Rash
I have never heard of the pregnancy rash - only the 'pregnancy mask' that some women get on their faces.
