Pregnant girls at the GTG........please help me

Can you please help me with what I can/can't eat at the GTG? I'm new to the whole mommy thing.

Also, do any of you know if they will have a vast array of virgin drinks?!?!?! Or are we stuck with water? I think there's enough of us to ask for something!

as far as foods are concerned: stay away from raw seafood. other than that, your body/nose will tell you what is ok.

as far as drinks go: any well-stocked bar will have sodas, juices, and waters.

certain shellfish
Unpastuerized soft cheeses

That is pretty much it, oh yeah and alcohol

Also anything like cold cuts or hot dogs. Something to do with the nitrates. Everything else is fair game! Of course now that I said that, I really want a hot dog!!!

ew...i'd stay away from things like that not being preggers....

thanks ladies! i was under the misconception that there was a plethora of things that cannot be consumed.

I also heard sausage and pates.

We can drink sprite, or any uncaffeinated sodas, decaf coffee, etc.---but anything in moderation won't hurt (well not anything)

I'm a vegan, so I eat none of that stuff anyway...

as for drinks, I've been working the Shirley Temples at every holiday party this year!!!

in addition to the list above... watch undercooked meat.

Cold cuts are OK if of very good quality. It's due to the 'listeria' bacteria in it. Very harmful to your baby.

Just follow us... or ask us there.

In short, no alcohol, no caffeine (or very limited), no seafood, no raw fish or meat. No soft cheese (fresh mozzarella, etc..)... cheddar cheese is OK.

I've had a hot dog or two, and I've had some cold cuts as well. As long as you aren't buying them from a dirty place, you should be fine. And I would totally eat pigs in a blanket if I saw them!

Well, she knows from a previous post that I threatened to fight her for the pigs in a blanket.

I was not aware of the soft cheese thing. I learn something new everyday!!

As for the shirley temples.....mmmmmmmmmm!!
