Pregnant Woman Found In Hudson Died From Gunshot

NEW YORK -- A pregnant woman whose body was found floating in the Hudson River in Manhattan died from a gunshot wound to the head, authorities said Monday.
The medical examiner ruled the death of Lisa Eatmon a homicide after completing an autopsy on Monday.
Eatmon, 33, of Brooklyn, was discovered on Sunday in the water off West 21st Street in Chelsea. Authorities said the victim, who also had a Philadelphia address, was eight months pregnant.
Investigators were focusing on a man they describe as a 'close acquaintance' of the victim. The man is a city sanitation worker whose 39-year-old wife was reported missing in 1998 after she failed to show for work at a doctor's office, police said. A hunter found her skeletal remains in 2002 at the bottom of an embankment in a remote area along the New York State Thruway, about 50 miles north of the city; a cause of death was never determined.
Police would not say if they consider the sanitation worker a possible suspect in Eatmon's slaying.
