Prego bridesmaid

hope this doesn't pop any popcorn... bur thought id share

This morning on my way to work i was listening to Z100 and a girl called and said that her friends friend was getting married and asked her friend to be in the BP now the friend told the bride she was planning on getting pregnant and the bride kicked her out of the BP because of her pictures. Just curious what everyone thought of this.

most of the staff said the bride was selfish but some said that it was okay.

Obviously this woman doesn't feel a close bond with this woman. It would be different if she told the bridesmaid she didn't have to do it anymore if she would be uncomfortable/ budget ect.. But for the pure reason of she doesn't was prego in her pictures. That is HORRIBLE. The people in your bridal party are supposed to be the most important people to you. If one of my bridesmaids got pregnant I would be super excited, not worrying about my photos.

That's so silly, and if I was that bm that was kicked out I wouldn't be speaking with that bride anymore.

One of my bm (my cousin) had a baby 3 months ago and still has all her baby weight plus. She has a solid 30-50 pounds on the rest of the female bridal party. The only reason why I'm so mad is because she won't go get her dress because she says she's fat. Well the point I'm trying to make here is I don't care how heavy or pregnant my bm's are because I love them and want to include them no matter what. So obviously that bride doesn't care all that much about the girl.

thats horrible! im sure the bridesmaid was really upset and insulted and i would be too! its like saying sorry your child in your stomach is goign to mess up my day!! thats crazy!! so id def disagree with that person who does taht

my FSIL just turned 31 and is getting married this october.....my wedding is may and she told me she wants to have a honeymoon baby, which would put her like 7 months pregnant at my wedding....

first of all she's my sisterinlaw, i would never kick her out of my wedding
and second of all shes from china and a size 00. 7 months pregnant she'll be like a size 2, which is still smaller than me

obviously the bride is a B*tch...if you are a true friend, who cares?? the spotlight is on the bride/groom ... and its a few pictures, so what?

I personally love pregnant women, I think they area beautiful and look so adorable all dressed up!

and if my good friend/BM got prego, I wouldn't feel any different about her being in my bridal party

One of my bridesmaids (my cousin) Is pregnant now- She's due in May though. She does want to have another one soon after though(she says that now! haha) Doesn't bother me at all!!

If any other BM get pregnant we have a problem being that no ones married and the one that is is done having kids!!! It would be interesting lol

I would be totally fine if one of my BMs was pregnant. Hence why they have a whole line of Maternity BM dresses for that exact reason - it happens.

I would never kick someone out of my BP because they would 'ruin my pictures'.

My sister is my MOH and she plans on getting prego in a few months which might make her about 9 months by my wedding depending on if it takes long to get prego! Im super excited just as long as she doesnt give birth on my wedding bc I have to be there when she does and that would stink having to miss my own wedding!! lol My bro is getting married this year and they also might get prego soon!! I dont care about bm being prego and I def think its selfish to kick them out for just that reason.

i heard that on the radio and i think that it's selfish to kick somebody out of the BP if they're prego - my friend is probably going to be prego by the time i get married and I have NO problem with that.

i don't care at all if someone was preggo at my wedding. i'm actually trying to get my sister preggo so that i can have a niece/nephew already!!!

I mean yes it is 'your' day. But lives of other do go on, who are we to tell a friend that they have to stop their lives. The prego friend didnt say that she didnt want to be a brides made anymore. So who cares if she is pregers in pics.. Sometimes I think people need to open their EYES!!

I actually do have a BM that is pregnant. My cousin found out she was pregnant and is due 6 days after my wedding. I am so happy for her, but of course I was a little disappointed at the thought that she could possibly not be there if she goes into labor early or something. But I would never have kicked her out of the bridal party...I asked her because I wanted her to be part of my day and that doesnt change bc shes pregnant.

i have 4 total girls in the BP (1 MOH and 3 BMs) ... of those 4 girls, 2 are currently trying to get preggo ...

both were REALLY worried about telling me - they thought i would kick them out ... it never even crossed my mind lol ... i'm very happy for them

i wouldn't mind having a pregnant BM in my bridal party, but i would be concerned if they were going to be close to their due date at my wedding. i would worry that a) they could go into labor at the wedding and they would miss everything, b) they could have the baby like 2 days before and then miss the wedding, or c) they could be really uncomfortable at full term, running around taking pictures and dancing and everything

so my only concerns would be for them, not for my pictures. who cares if they have a pregnant belly in pics?? that's so weird to think that.

I agree with everyone. You ask someone to be a BM because you want that person standing with you...not because of how they look. My sister who will be my MOH is getting married this summer, and she said 'but what if I'm pregnant around the time of your wedding?' and i said 'well i guess we're gunna have to find a hot maternity dress for you to wear!' I mean, its my SISTER! I agree with the other concerns for the BM...that she would be uncomfortable or even have to miss my day...not because I care about what the pics would look like!

Kind of related story...

My grandmother (who passed away when I was little) had a twin sister, and when my grandma got married, my aunt was pregnant, so my aunt asked the florist to make her a GIANT frikkin bo-k so she could hide her belly, because she herself thought that being pregnant would ruin the photos! And it kind of worked...lol because you can't see her body at all...but before I knew the story I used to think geez, grandma really liked big flowers! lol
