prenatal question

OK, so I got a positive home pregnancy, but I do not have an appointment with the doctor until next week to confirm. Should I take any kind of vitamins until then?

Re: prenatal question

Folic acid is supposed to prevent neural tube defects and they say pregnant women should take it. I have started to take it since we are TTC.

You can get a good prenatal vitiman at any drug store or GNC. I would take it until I see my doctor.

Re: prenatal question

Take Centrums - they have the recommended folic acid and they don't upset your stomach like some prenatals can.

I take Target's brand of prenatal vitamins...I take them with breakfast and they do not bother my stomach at all

Re: prenatal question

If you are already taking a multi-vitamin that has 100% of your requirement for folic acid, then you don't need anything. Otherwise, you can just get over the counter prenatals at a pharmacy.

You could probably call your doc and have them put in a prescript for prenatals since you are pregnant and will be having appointments with them. thats what mine did for me

I would call your doctor and ask what they suggest you do.
