Did you guys prep before you went to register the first time? I mean, I don't want to get to a store and be unprepared or completly clueless about the whole process... am I over paranoid? Or did you guys already have your stuff picked out before going into the store?

Re: Prep for registry?
my only tip is to make sure you wear comfy shoes and had a good lunch. LOL I don't think there is anything else you can do that will really help. Maybe you can look on the web sites of the particular store kind of see what they have to offer?

Re: Prep for registry?
I went online for the stores we went to and looked for the big items (i.e. dishes, pots, pans) to see what kind of selection they had and which I liked....most other stuff we just looked at what they had and picked in the store....they will give you a checklist of all the different things you might want to register for once you get there!

Re: Prep for registry?
I did everything online over many weeks so there was no pressure at anytime. It wasn't until much later that I actually went to some of the stores physically to see if there was anything 'in-store' but not online that I might want to add, and to feel my bedding and towels before I committed.

Re: Prep for registry?
I just showed up at the store with nothing particular in mind and added things as I walked around. I highly recommend Fortunoffs.
If you want, at some places they provide you with someone from the registry department to walk around with you and help you select things. I didn't bother with that because I just wanted to be alone with my FH and was afraid that they would talk me into adding things I wouldn't really like. Lots of people find it helpful though. Good luck, happy registering!!

Re: Prep for registry?
i'm a list geek- I need one for everything- so I typed one up of everything that we needed and I brought it with us to the store- it helped us not register for needless things- although I did have to remove a bunch of stuff anyhow b/c fh got scan happy

Re: Prep for registry?
I also had a typed checklist - many places give you their own list but its better to have your own idea of what you want

I looked online at stuff I liked and brought a checklist. Also we went more then once so we didnt get overwhelmed.
