A special report came on this morning from Bush that the middle east has all new gov't. He will be traveling to Azocs (I think thats it) and will be working on a plan.
Bush said Palenstine is appointing a Prime Minister because they never had one. Bush said the guy who is getting appointed is friends with the US and Israel and he'll do the right thing. This new guy is for peace and the US feels they can really trust him.

I doubt it means anything for the Iraq situation, but brokering peace between the Israeli's and Palestinians would do nothing but good right now.
Although there are still plenty of countries in the Middle East that would love to see Israel wiped off the face of the earth.

He was suppose to 'work' on this issue weeks ago and was being critized for pushing it aside. Also, it is a way for other UN members to see the US as Peace-loving people instead of War-wanters. Totally BS political tactics.

Exactly what part of brokering peace and trying to avoid war, or go to war isn't politcal bs?

tammyjill, the more i read and hear about how many soldiers are away, the more i make sure to say a prayer for them and their families (and our world leaders to make the right decisions)

Bush is being puppeted by Tony Blair right now...Tony is looking to bolster his political career in Britian and his people are demanding certain things in this situation, and Tony is turning that pressure over to Bush. Bush is desparate for Britian's support, so up go the puppet strings.
Bush's comments this morning did not solve anything. There is no new prime minister for Palestine, just that Yassar Arafat is grooming a successor to him. Bush wants someone confirmed before his 'Roadmap to Peace' can be put in place.
This is VERY opportunistic w/the UN diplomatic discussions. Bush is hoping that this sudden attention to peace in the Middle East will sway the rest of the UN swing votes in favor of the UN resolution w/Iraq.

President bush has a lot on his plate. Since the minute he became president he has been in the media's eyes for every little thing. I wonder if the man ever sleeps.
Would the decisions be different if it were Gore? We dont know.
We just have to have faith and pray that our leaders are making the right decisions.
If it was me that was the president, maybe yea I would say F everyone I am going over to Irag and dropping the mother bomb but what would that prove?? what would that accomplish??? As president you have to take every action you make into consideration. Every word, every move, everything he does effects not just him and the cabinets, but also us.
So I have sympathy for him. He has to please everyone and make the best decisions for this nation.
