Pressing Flowers - how-to??

Does anyone know how to press flowers?? FI was best-man at a wedding this weekend (Glen Island Harbour Club). We were helping the B & G pack up and the bride asked me to take the groom's boutionere home and please press it for her while they're on their HM. Do I press it between 2 sheets of waxed paper, or regular paper? She was in such a panic I didn't want to stop and ask her.

Thanks!!!!

oh and put the flower between two pieces of wax paper and gently close inside a book - maybe stack a bunch of books on top of it and store somewhere dry and somewhat cool if you can. it will be fine! (or do a google search for more info!)

Hi Jenny,

The Harbour Club was absolutely stunning!!!! The view is fantastic. Is she getting married there?? They got married in the chapel at sunset, it was beautiful.

The cocktail hour food was plentiful and delicious - everything you could imagine. The first course of the main meal was a bit strange - asparagus flan and smoked salmon w/caviar - I assume the couple picks this. The main choices were the chateau-briand (didn't even need a knife), salmon and chicken. The gentlemen next to me raved about the salmon - I don't think anyone at our table had the chicken.

The best was the desert - a sampler of warm brownie souffle, fruit tart, and pastry. Absolutely delicious.

The one issue they did have was with the liquor. Apparently in their contract they specifically listed which top-shelf liquor was to be served - and when the bride ordered a malibu and coke - the malibu was nowhere to be found. It eventually surfaced - I don't think it was a huge deal. Also, some of the under-age cousins were caught drinking and the Club threatened to close all the bars if they weren't controlled (I guess liability - can't really blame them).

All in all, everything was spectacular - everyone we encountered was super. Don't know the name of their bridal attendant, but she stayed until the very end (1am this morning) to help them sort everything and pack up the cars.

Let me know if you need any more information!!!
