Good read. I know this topic has been brought up before on the boards. I am looking forward to changing my last name.

I also heard it is a hassle to 'officially' hyphenate your name.

I'm just amazed at how little the percentage is of woman who don't hypenate anymore.

I'm with you - I'm all for changing my last name. I'm not in a position at work where changing my last name would cause issues.

I wonder though the percentage of woman who just don't change their name at all (like not even with a hypen... just keep the last name).

'says I’m wishy-washy about my commitment and (gasp) that I’m not ready to leave my family and be a wife'

This is exactly my FH's position. I don't care because I'm all for changing my last name, but I think for work, I'll absolutely still have to have my maiden name in there for a while until people get used to me having a new name (I'm a lawyer and by the time I get married, I'll have been at this same job for a year and a half and have over 3000 contacts with field personnel throughout the globe )
