So i really had my heart set on doing our hotel block at Fox Hallow. I called yesterday and the rate they gave us was $199 and $20 per extra person after two people. I've gotten mixed reviews. Some people think thats not bad, and other think its a lot. what do you guys think?
Do you guys know of any other really pretty hotels in the area around the Riviera? I'm not from LI so I don't really know this stuff.

Re: pretty hotels
I have my room block at the Fox Hollow but it is alittle less because I am getting married in April.
If you are willing to be near Melville you can try the Marriot on Route 110. It is nothing crazy but it is a typical Marriot and is nice. I believe they quoted me at $125 or something like that for a night!

I agree about the Melville Marriott, the Huntington Hilton is very nice too which is right on 110 down the street from the Marriott..

Re: pretty hotels
I agree with the other girls re: the marriot and hilton.
but if you have your heart set on fox hollow, I dont think $199 is out of control for June on LI... that just my opinion but I could see some OOT guests thinking it's a lil high though.

I don't know why I'm being such a bridezilla about this but i just reallyyy want that hotel lol. I never want our wedding to be a burden on anyone though you know? ug I'm so stressed out right now and i know its over something so silly. haha oh wedding planning

How many OOT'ers are you expecting? Can you do a block at two hotels and give your guests the choice?

We are starting with a 15 room block but i think we are going to need more rooms because everyone lives a least an hour away

Re: pretty hotels
I know exactly what you mean. For me the room block was the most stressful thing I had to do.
I was being torn between the same hotels and loved Fox Hollow. I finally decided that Fox Hollow was a little more but it included breakfast in the morning. Also the shuttle but we were going to have a shuttle either way. We just would have had to pay for it in the other hotels.

who would have ever guessed something so simple would get SO stressful. but yeah exactly what you said they have the shuttle and breakfast and its just so pretty. If people want to stay at another hotel thats ok but well do our official block there i think.
oy! i wish this wedding would get here already lol

Re: pretty hotels
Now im glad I decided FMIL can set up the hotel blocks... all the stress you girls speak of, will be all on her!.. now if I could only get her to start making calls so I can start my invites!

Re: pretty hotels
If you decide to do more than one place just keep in mind that Fox Hollow requires that you guarantee 60% of the room block. Make sure that you know at least 60% will be used because I would hate to see you have to pay that much money.
I thought about doing two different room blocks but I was afraid of people just going to the other room block because it was cheaper even though Fox Hollow is much nicer and included breakfast.

I don't think you are being bridezilla at all, and I don't think it's a silly decision!! I can see how it can be stressful, and I am already predicting it to be a stressful decision for myself, too!
I don't think the price is that bad for May and for what you are getting with the breakfast and the shuttle.
GL with the decision! Sorry I wasn't more helpful! lol There is just not a lot of good choices for hotels on LI.

Re: pretty hotels
Have you checked The viana hotel in Westbury. It's a new hotel. Have your guest search on priceline as well sometimes you get between 80 and 100 dollars off. It's a brand new hotel. Good Luck

Re: pretty hotels
we went to check out the huntington hilton this weekend and the rooms are nice and big and they have a bar open til 2 on fri/sat nights and two restaurants for breakfast, plus the option to have a private room for brunch.. def nicer than fox hollows food option. you may want to check it out.
