Re: price for engagement party

We did ours in my backyard. We spent about that in renting tables and chairs, food catered, liquor, favors, invites...etc. It was really nice.

Re: price for engagement party

I would love to do something in a backyard but We dont have one, parents are my mom and his mom and both rent, no backyard, no family has a large backyeard except an aunt who's daughter is having hers there in a few months, so it would have to be in a restuarant type of place...Does anyone have the # for the moose lodge in Lindenhurst( that is where we live)

Re: price for engagement party

look at smaller resturants in your local village.. we found prices like 20pp. We were gonna do the backyard thing but by time you rent tables/chairs, cater food, you mind as well go out to a resturant so u don't have to clean up and host. We were gonna do that but it cost the same after adding eveyrthing up not including labor of cleanign and hosting a function at your house.. Even a retail chain resturant like Macronni Grill went for 25 pp

Re: price for engagement party

bumping.. I need help too and am looking in the same price range. A party at the house is not an option for us either.

So frustrating... We don't even want an E-Party but my mother does and has already told everyone she is doing it..... But who is doing the legwork FH and I..

Re: price for engagement party

I say this all the time but if you can keep the list at $50 people you can have the larger private room at Giardinos.. everyone here LOVES the food.. I dont know anyone who didnt, and we got a full dinner (ohmigod soo much food) unlimited wine, champagne, and soda, and the cake for $32.50 p/p - no tax if you pay cash. The only thing is they are very strict about only letting 50 people into the big room b/c thats the max. - so if you do the math I think that like 1,600 something and you get everything.

Re: price for engagement party

We had a 4 hour, private party at Micheal's in Sayville Long Island and we paid $40 pp (that included the tax). Our was in March, so being that it was off season, we got it for that price. It was buffet style, but amazing food.... Micheal is the chef and owner. He is also a pastry Chef, so our cake was AMAZING! I totally recommend this place and he is will to work with a budget, speak to him directly though. We didnt have to hire a DJ niether, because they had music tapped into the room. The place is warm and beautiful.

Re: price for engagement party

Hi!

We had about 80 people for $1600.
We had it at a local American Legion Hall. It was $400 to rent for the night. Then we had the party catered for $8 per person from a local deli. We had a DJ for $300. The rest of the moeny was spent on balloons, decorations, and some cookies for dessert.

My FMIL brought the cake and my cousin did the favors so this isn't included in the price.

We had a great time!
If you decide to have it somewhere like an American Legion or Knights of Columbus make sure you have people to help you out setting up and cleaning up, and even help throughout the party. I would reccommend hiring a waitress (which we did not do) beacuse some people worked too hard at the party!

ETS: We had kegs and some hard liquor too, but my Fhs brothers took care of that!
