Those of you who have had/will be having a grooms cake, how much was it. I am looking at an 'intricate' cake as said by the baker I am using and it's more than I had wanted to spend. Just wondering if it's worth it.

Anymore than $250 is a little high to be honest. In order to save $$$, I would also request the 'minimum amt of people' - ie: if you're having 50 guests, just order one for 25 b/c not everyone will have a slice and it's more for 'show' than anything else.

My friend paid about $150 for the cake..it's really nice too...I say anything over $200 (depending on what you want and also the work on it) is alot...
