Hey Ladies, So I started my search for a photographer, but I want to make sure I'm not getting ripped off. What is the 'typical' price for a photographer. I know that everyone is different, but I just want to get an idea. Thanks!!

Depends what you are looking for... with my quest for photo... I priced alomst everyone alot of the girls here use...
For no albums... pics on CD.. Full day of coverage.. 1 to 2 shooters etc... $2k-2500 is the range..
With albums 1-2shooters Full day etc... $2900.00-4k is the price range I have been finding..
but again it depends on what you are looking for..
then there are those that are 5-6k and I even have a 8-9k!!!!

I agree with the above poster, depends on what you want, but with albums its about 3-6K

If you search really well or get a recommendation you can find an up and coming photographer for $1000-$1500 with pics on a CD.
I did. I am on a serious budget. I can't afford to get albums just yet. If I have them on a CD. I will be able to do an album whenever I can.

10x10 album, digital style 2 parent albums all proofs all pics on high res cd engagement shoot with 11x14 pic 2 photographers 11 hours of shooting 1-11x14, 2-8x10, 3-5x7 Edited video umm... yeah it hink thats it.

its hard to say bc ive seen ranges from 2k-8k and even higher. So its not about getting ripped off, its just what that photographers prices are. If you feel its too much, i would just continue looking for another photographer.
Average i would say is about $3k-5k

I used Gray Studios in Floral Park www.graystudios.com there prices are great and packages include many options and all images on dvd Good luck!!!!!!

I suggest Gary Leli... For coverage and all proofs on a CD he runs around $1500, for full day coverage. 800-1000 proofs. And then you have the option to add albums later. He also has packages (including same coverage as above and albums(3) and portraits starting at I think it was in $3000 range. hth

I think you can find a package from about 1500-2000 for no albums, just all of your pics on a cd/dvd, prints, and a full day of coverage.
I've seen prices for albums with a full day of coverage start at 2800 to about 5000, but it really depends on what you are looking for.

I know of an up and coming photographer who learned a lot from a great photographer who has been featured in Maxim.
He's a really nice guy too.

Mitzi, not only are we on the same page with florists, but I am also on the same page with you regarding a photographer.
Who are you using? I am thinking of using Amanda Picone, who has decent prices, approx. 1K and up.
