Price of Registry Items

Price of Registry Items

Ok so......we don't have a house so it was really hard to pick out things we would want for our registry. Basically I haven't thought about it since we did it. Today I went on for the first time to 'stalk' and I was looking at what we put on there. I am embrrassed about the prices of some things. I guess I didn't look at the prices as we were going...we followed similar items of FH's twin brother who got married last year. Did you girls ask for some expensive things?

I signed up online and start looking around. From the little i´ve seen, I think it´s kind of hard not to register for expensive things. Prices are really high for some items.

I think you basically have to go with things you like. If there are similar items that are a little cheaper then that´s fine, but you also don´t want to end up with things you don´t like or are not going to use. I think as long as there are items in different prices ranges you´re fine. Some might be able to spend on the higher priced items or maybe two or three people can go in together for something. But also make sure you have some lower priced items for others who may be on a tighter budget.

At least, that´s what i´m going to try to do. we´ll see how i do when i actually get started.

We put some really expensive things on ours and some not so expensive. Some of the whimsical things that you would never buy yourself are the best gifts and not too expensive. Plus, sometimes people will get together to purchase an expensive gift. I usually spend between $50-$100 on an engagement gift or shower gift but everyone is different. Maybe look online where you registered to see if anything catches your eye.

Try to make sure you register for things in different price ranges. Items on our registry range in price from $2.99 to $499. People are going to spend what they feel is appropriate. If all else fails you may end up with gift cards to the store-Then you can pick out what you want.

We have a variety of price points...from $5 to over $300.

You should have a variety of items in a vast range of prices. My registry has items at $3 and others that were at $600.

People will buy them, the expensive ones and the cheaper ones. Close friends and family will most likely buy the more expensive ones, and some people will also go in together to buy a bigger gift. Your BM's may all go in together to get you something, or maybe some co-workers.

Put whatever you want on your registry...that's why it's YOUR registry. It's a wishlist - not a demand. If people don't want to buy more expensive things, they won't.

Dont feel bad about the price of the items...alot of people might go in together and buy one of the expensive gifts. You should def. have a range.

some of our items are very expensive, actually most of our items are very expensive but i think it depends what you are asking for. for example with us, we already live together so we don't need any kitchen electronics except for a new toaster. we don't need any pots & pans or storage containers or any cooking utensils.

what we need: new everyday dishes & utensils, holiday dishes & utensils & glasses. new bed sets since we will be purchasing a new bed. we even registered for a temper-pedic mattress (upwards of $3,000). we aren't expecting anyone to buy the mattress but at macys anything left on the registry after your wedding you get at a discounted price. you also have to remember that a group of people may pool money together to get a more expensive gift. also don't forget that stores constantly run sales. last week my holiday glasses where buy one get one free.
