I'm planning a wedding for february 2008. I haven't been to too many RH yet. Can anyone help me out with prices? There is one catch...they have to allow smoking (most of the guests are smokers, including the FOB. I dont want to be searching for him for the father-daughter dance) PLEASE HELP!!!
Thanks

I know my hall has a patio connected to the room. I don't know if you'll find a hall that allows smoking in ny

what place allowed smoking? I dont know of any, never heard of that...I am a smoker, FH is a smoker but i wouldnt want that at my wedding, i think you should think about that...Especially if its a closed off space, there will be no windows and it will get bad in there. I think it would be good if you get an RH with a connecting outside area. Non-smoking guests wont like this at all

I'm pretty sure it's a NY law that there is no smoking inside any places like that or clubs, bars, restaurants, etc.

. i actually went to a wedding there that allowed smoking. it wasn't bad at all. i would prefer being able to go outside too but it's in february. too cold to go outside. thanks for the insight, will definately take it into consideration.

Really wow that is surprising...Well some places have heating lamps outside so that might be an option bc honestly it will be hard to find another place that allows smoking

Becareful only because if alot of people are from NY and non smokers they may not like the idea of smoking all around them.

Ive never heard of that but you should be careful with it bc while most of your guests are smokers...maybe some arent and maybe some wont come bc of it...I know I wouldnt be able to since Im allergic to smoke :(

Yeah there is a law. I don't think there really are any Rh that will allow it. I know my RH has a patio and you can go out there from the room to smoke

Chateau la mer has the outside deck area where everyone could go to smoke. I know it'll be cold outside but I dont know if any place would really allow it. If you are concerned about the cold ask them to put heaters outside.

I would check out westbury manor. Their biggest room (the manor room) has a wall of french doors that lead to the back gardens. Right outside those doors are gas heaters specifically for smokers to huddle during the winter if they have to step out. And since they'll be right outside, you'll be able to see where they are at all times.
I only asked for afternoon prices, but i was told for jan-march (not including tax and tip): $59 pp saturday afternoon $58 pp sunday afternoon
The evening prices will be more...

I think a few places we went to told us that there was a door from the reception room that led outside in case ppl wanted to smoke. The ones that I can remember off the top of my head are Crest Hollow, Milleridge Cottage, and Westbury Manor.
umm yeah really alot of non smokers do not want to leave the party smelling like smoke and you also have to be careful that none puts burn holes in your dress and then you get to go home with your dress having the scent of that oh so lovely cigg smoke. it really wouldnt hurt anyone to step out side for a quick 5 min. smoke

my rh said there was a new law or something and servers are not allowed to be exposed to second hand smoke...so if we wanted a cigar roller/hour thing...we can have trays of food but no servers...or nix the 'smoking' and keep the servers for the after hour.
