It seems like it might be a bit high for white gold, but I guess it depends on the color and size of the diamonds. My wedding band is platinum channel setting with 7 diamonds (good color too) and I only paid a little more than you have mentioned. The other time, it was up to me how I wanted to wear my hair and I just used hot rollers at home. That was really a better look for me than the up-do and worked great.

Just a suggestion--whatever your engagement ring is then go with same type-- white gold and platinum look exactly alike when NEW but as you wear it you put tiny scratches into white gold which make the yellow show through-- many jewelers wont tell you this- if you have one platinum that looks really shiny and then the white gold that starts to look yellow you can notice the difference--- My engagement ring is white gold-- and now that we are shopping for bands you can notice even the difference when it is against other white gold bands--Our jeweler made my wedding band with my engagement ring and there is a noticeable difference because i have been wearing the engagement ring

That is exactly what we are having done-- I want to get a platinum wedding band so that in the future I will only have to redip my engagement ring--
