Prices From Duet

So all I have heard on this site is how wonderful and reasonably priced they are...I just got a quote for $3700 for what seems to me to be a pretty basic package!!!!

Please tell me this is not what people mean by reasonably priced...Did I misunderstand Duet?

What does the package include?

Mine included 1 Bride Groom and 2 parent and the usual proof thankyou... 2 photographers.

I dont neccessarily think this is very expensive, but it is not a bargen like some made it sound. I was hoping I heard here wrong instead of this being a bargen.

what about video?

Their prices have gone up (at least twice that I know of) once they gained in popularity. The package that I looked into back in 2004 has increased in price close to $1800.

They still do have good prices though.

I also booked pre 05 prices going up and If Im not mistaken I took that package w/out video.
I still think its a good price but it also depends on what you are looking for. Its its your 1st photographer, search some more and compare....you'll see.

i agree!! ours was almost 5k, but with that we got all the basics, 2 parent albums, the video (3dvd's) all the thanks yous, proofs, 2 photographers etc. etc. we paid about 800 more because we wanted the large 'coffee table' style book. we booked in early 2004, and their prices have definitely gone up. i think for the quality of pictures you get, they are definitely a bargain!!!

I agree. Although I booked with them a while back, they still are a bargain for 2 photographers and a videographer. I shopped around and for the same package, other places were charging $5-$7K. Some will charge you the same amount for just ONE photographer. Since I booked though, I know they've raised their prices twice.

They were the lowest quotes from the ones I went to as well. To be fair though, I only saw 3 or 4 photographers!

I saw 6 photographers and they were the lowest quotes I heard. Photography is just plain expensive. Like everything else

Yes, I even switched to Duet. I originally booked another photographer whose pics weren't as good and her basic package with only 300 proofs (color and photo only) was way more than Duet's photo and video package that we got.

duet brides - do they use digital or film.. ( i was also quoted about 5K - but im going to customize)

but then forgot what they use and my brother claims thats very important b/c of the quality of the pic...
