Hey I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of what things may cost (RH, flowers, DJ, attire etc...)? I am having a hard time estimating the costs. I don't want to underestimate. I keep looking online for average prices but I feel like they don't fit with the costs of things here on LI. HELP!

Re: Pricing
Don't know about flowers because I haven't start looking yet. It really depends on where you go and what you want from a RH, the prices will vary.

Re: Pricing
When are you looking to have your wedding??? How many people are you expecting? That will effect the cost of your estimates.
- However for photography/ video I would say to budget around $5000

Re: Pricing
RH it'll depend on how many guests I'd say anywhere between 10-25k DJ: between 2-4k Photo: between 3-6k (this figure includes video) flowers: between 1.5-3k

Re: Pricing
Everything sadly depends on when your getting married. For the florist it depends on what flowers you use, high/low cp. DJ/Band depends on what you use and add ons. FM if you want my specifics. I am getting married 2/14/10.

Re: Pricing
I would say:
photo/video: 4-6k DJ: 1-2k (possibly more depending on extras) flowers: 2k
RH is hard because it really depends on the # of guests, time of year, time of day..etc

Re: Pricing
We have been budgeting $5k each for flowers, dj, photographer/videographer and limos. I know that it might be a bit on the high side for each, but we wanted wanted to make it higher so if we went over the budget in one area - we would hopefully have some extra money from another area - plus, we would rather budget for the 'worst case scenerio'. As for RH - as the girls stated above - it all depends on what type of place you are looking for, seasons, amt of people, etc...

Re: Pricing
RH is hard to give a figure b/c the prices will vary depending on time of year and location. On aSat night in Nov I was getting prices from $110 pp - $180 pp depending lob location.
Flowers -- There is also a range. Low CPs will be much cheaper than high. I'd day your 5k budget is good...and you should be able to go much lower if you get low cps
Dj- $2000 is an avg price for dj/mc. If you want all the extras, it could go up from there
Photo/video - $4-$7k
Limos -- not really sure. I budgetd $2k for mine, but havent gone looking yet

Re: Pricing
All these answers are pretty accurate...
I think April is a pretty good time to get married because while it isn't a low season for weddings, it also isn't peak season. I was looking for a Saturday evening in June so prices were higher... You can go to RHs for under 100pp all the way to 300pp (or more with add-ons, extra stations, VH, etc.) but that's on the high end (but just to give you an idea). Friday evenings, Saturday afternoons and Sunday evenings are a good way to save. And for the RH, it really depends on what you are looking for and the number of guests you are inviting.

Re: Pricing
We are looking at 120 ppl at the end of April. We went to a few places that offered $110 pp. It seems reasonable. Would you think 25-30k would be a good budget?

Re: Pricing
Remember also for the reception hall about the taxes too. I was so excited that I was paying under $80/person but when I added in the taxes it was close to $100.

Just remember that $110 pp doesn't include tax and gratuity. Tax and gratuity included, it will be more like $130-$140. Also, when looking at RHs, try to negotiate your minimum # of guaranteed to guests to be as low as possible. If you think you might have 120 guests, try to only have to guarantee 100, just to be on the safe side. $25k-$30k is definitely a reasonable budget, but rather than base how much you think you should spend on an average, I'd say figure out what is most important to you, and work from there. For example, flowers weren't that important to me. We had gorgeous flowers, but we kept them simple, and used a local florist. We spent less than $800 total on all of our flowers, well under the average budgeted amount most girls will tell you on here. If you need any other money saving tips, or even more reasonably priced RHs to consider, feel free to FM me, as I definitely was very budget concious when we were planning. Good luck!

i tried to do most everything cheaply... so for me it looked something like this:
RH - aprox 150 people, sun afternoon in summer--- 15-20k
FLOWERS - i didnt do cps, just 7 bo-ks and like 10 bouts for $500 (if you have flower cps you're figure will prob be around 2k)
DJ - ranges between 1-2k depending on how much added things you get
PHOTO - got mine for free, but expect to spend around a ballpark of 3k
VIDEO - spent 1400, but some coupld prob spend around 2-3k for this
FAVORS - 500 - 1k
DRESS AND ACCESSORIES - figure around 1k - 2k (cant really say bc some spurlge here and others dont)
