Pridwin Hotel on Shelter Island
Hi Everyone!! I am a brand new bride-to-be and am in the process of searching for a reception hall. We are going to look at the Pridwin Hotel on Shelter Island. Has anyone attended any weddings there or heard anything about it. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks.

My sister went to a wedding there last summer. She said it was beautiful, but that knowing what the bride and groom had paid, they did not get their money's worth. She said the food was not very good and several people complained that their dinner was almost cold. Apparently there was a shortage of waitstaff and some people were already done with their dinner before the last table was even served. Sorry to give you such negative feedback, but thought you would want to know.

Pridwin Hotel on Shelter Island
I spoke to my sister tonight and here are her recollections. She said the hotel is lovely. However it is really too small for a large wedding, especially if it rains(which it did on this day). The cocktail hour originally planned for outside had to be moved inside. The problem is there was no other room to use. She said everyone was in a hallway like area and it was next to impossible to even move, much less get to the buffet. For the dinner there were far too many tables, not enough room, not enough wait staff, and from where they were sitting there was no way to even see the bride or groom. Additionally, the only way on or off the island is by ferry. The ferry does not run very late so you have to plan ahead to make sure you don't miss it. Several of the guests had to make plans to stay overnight at the hotel simply because they were concerned about missing the ferry. She did say that if you were having a smaller wedding 100 or less, it would probably have been better. Hope this helps.Welcome New Vendors
