I would like to get married at my RH (gorgeous gazebo...wiev of the bay...lovely garden) but it is important to my FH to have a priest preform our ceremony. I have heard that the catholic church does not allow outdoor weddings. Is it possible to find a priest to be our officiant? Can you gals reccomend anyone?

Re: Priest
Fr. Tom McCormick and Fr. Mike Callahan are both reformed priests who chose to leave the Cathloic church. Fr. Tom performed our outdoor ceremony and it was lovely!!!!!!
You can find the contact info for both of them on this site under Vendors and then Officiants.

Re: Priest
I think it won't be recognized by the Roman Catholic church, or something like that. In order for it to be recognized by the RC Church, it has to be IN a church, or BELIEVE me, I would have gotten married on the beach! I think you can get an AMERICAN Catholic priest to do your ceremony, but don't quote me on that.

Re: Priest
my cousin did the same thing. she went with a non-roman catholic priest as a compromise with her mil.
it was beautiful, but i don't think the church recognizes it.

Re: Priest
I'm using Father Robert Allmen, who is agreeable to doing outdoor ceremonies in Suffolk- his parish is in the Hamptons. 631-728-2633. I'd give him a call & ask any questions you may have. He was very easy to talk to & I had lots of questions!

Re: Priest
if you dont get married inside a catholic church it is not recognized by the church
what some brides do is getting married where they want and THEN have a private ceremony inside the church. . .
