I am getting married at St. Matthews in Dix Hills & the priest that is marrying us has a very heavy indian accent. I am starting to get concerned that no-one will understand what he is saying. Do you think I should ask for another priest or jsut **** it up?

Re: Priest Concern
I personally would probably ask for another priest. Have you been to any of his masses? If not, maybe you should give it a shot. Maybe it's not as bad as you think.

Re: Priest Concern
Actually, the priest who is marrying us doesn't have a parish per se - but he is a friend of my Dad's and also a friend of Msgr. McDonald, so it's a bit of an exception (he's a hospital chaplain where my Dad works - FH's family is Catholic, not ours). Not much help to you, I'm afraid. But I have found Msgr. McDonald to be quite accommodating, if a bit gruff. So if you knew of a priest that you wanted to marry you at St. Matthew, you should certainly ask if it is possible.
Our wedding is in March.

Re: Priest Concern
i would say listen to him give a mass, then you could ask have the priest switched, and say that you couldnt hear him clearly at the last mass.
