Just saw on the 09 board that you are supposed to invite your priest to the RH...even if you aren't a parishioner?!?!

it means not being apart of the church the priest is from. like in my situation...i live in fl...getting married in ny...i don't really know the priest that is marrying us whatsoever.

Yeah, I am inviting my priest and I think you are supposed to as per etiquette. You're also 'supposed to' invite the priest to the rehersal dinner.

I dont think I'm going to invite mine. I dont even know him. I got his number from my RH. I dont see why I would have to invite him. Maybe if he was someone that we knew or something then I would.

I'm inviting him to the rehearsal dinner and he's welcome to stay for the cocktail hour which follows immediately, but we aren't inviting him to the actual reception. I've also heard though that you are supposed to invite your ceremony musicians and we're doing the same with them (well, the ones who aren't family) where they can hang out for cocktail hour if they'd like but we're having a small wedding and we didn't want a blessing or anything. Also, we happen to know that ours doesn't stay at any place afterwards because whenever we meet with him for Pre Cana it's always right after someone's ceremony.
