Hello - The church where we're getting married is allowing us to bring in any priest. The father who would otherwise be marrying us has a very difficult accent to understand so we're looking for someone charasmatic and highly recommended. Any ideas who would travel to Glen Cove, NY?

Re: Priest Recommendation
Father Bob Allmen from the Good Shepherd Church. He performed our ceremony at the Glen Cove Mansion.

Re: Priest Recommendation
Most priests don't travel to do weddings. they usually only do weddings at their OWN parishes or for family members and friends or parishoners that may have had previously....

Re: Priest Recommendation
I'm not sure he does weddings at other churches besides his own, but Monsignor Jim Lisante is doing our wedding and we adore him.
He's very modern in his thinking, great sense of humor and very charismatic.

Just FYI-He is not a Roman Catholic Priest.

Msgr. Listante is marrying us as well. I am almost certain he doesn't travel for wedding for non-parishioners (except for family/friends) b/c of the demands of his schedule. He only does select weddings at his own parish, too.

This is very true!
Unless you have a priest with whom you are close, it's going to be very difficult to find someone outside the parish where you are getting married.

Father Joe DiVincenzo is great. Not sure if he's what you are looking for, but it's worth it to call him

Someone who is not an ordained Roman Catholic priest would not be allowed to be the main officiant over a ceremony in a Roman Catholic Church. This would only be allowed if it was an inter-faith ceremony and the person was co-officiating.
