Printing Dilema

Can someone please help me?

I'm trying to print my invitations and I'm having an issue. I bought the following paper: http://www.lcipaper.com/catalog/specialty.paper?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=CL2-SW&Store_Code=LPC

I'm using 6X6 pocketfolds and the way that the paper will be cut I'm able get 2 invitations per card stock (landscaped).

My problem is that when I print on the LaserJet printer the ink smudges and it makes the invitation look dirty. What should I do? Has anyone used this particular paper before? If so, what kind of printer did you use?

Thank you for all your help.

The paper stock maybe too thick for your printer causing the smudging.
Try feeding it manually through the manual feed - that's the tray that lets you feed the envelopes and up to 20 sheet of paper (usually).
Also, is it smudging if you do a test print on plain paper??? If so, you might have to clean out where the toner is.

The problem with feeding the paper through manually is that it will tend to print askew which means you that you cant use the edges of the paper and need to cut all four sides. This happened to me.

We fought with our paper, which had a slight tooth (meaning grain) and finally said screw this and bought laser printer specific cardstock from Staples and it ran right through the printer with absolutely no problems. I'd suggest getting rid of the paper you have and trying any stock/papers at staples/officemax etc

Thank you for the advice. I'm going to try it one more time. This time cleaning the printer. I just spent so much money all 300 sheets of paper and don't want to see it go to waste.

Cleaning it and gently feeding it through might help. Your link for the paper didnt work, but I might be interested in buying some depending on what it looks like and what the weight is.

I'm going to try and clean the printer. This particular printer that I have has 4 different toners so it's going to be a project to clean it

Sorry about the link. Here goes again:

I personally don't recommend this paper but that's just me. It didn't work for me. I went to Staples and bought Hammond Card Stock paper. I'm extremely impressed and pleased with this particular paper. Much cheaper to.

Let me know how this works out for you.

Re: Printing Dilema

I actually used the same card stock for my invites and it worked out quite well... I also just came into a bunch of paper from a friend so I am good to go.
