Printing Envelopes Yourself

Printing Envelopes Yourself

I plan on printing them myself, and I know there will need to be some 'playing' around with it. If you did them yourself, what font did you use and what size?

Try to get a sample of the envelope and test it out.

I planned to print my own but the envelope was too thick. I ended up sending them to Bill @ Inkspun.

I just printed them myself and it started out as a huge pain - but then it got easier!!
it is really time-consuming though - so be aware!!
I think I used about 30 pt. font of Liberty BT
Of course, I used some strange Illustrator Program that Fh has becuse he's a graphic artist and it's really confusing but it worked SO well for the invites!

We ordered the font from a website (sorry don't remember which one- do a Google search for fonts) that is the same font as the one on our invites. We used black ink, and did them in size 24. The font is called Nuptial script.

We did a monogram in the background and did the addresses in FlemishScript (same as the invites)

We lightened up the monogram for the final invites the picture is just of a draft

We used Beautiful script (available free from dafont.com), I think around 30 point size. Came out perfect, and you cannot tell whatsoever that they were done at home.

You should play around with fonts, sizes, spacing, etc. on paper cut to the size of your envelopes so that you get it right without too much envelope waste. Also, you will probably want to set your print setting to 'Best Quality' (or something similar), to get the boldest, clearest print.

Re: Printing Envelopes Yourself

we had serious problems feeding the envelopes - we had to reorder more envelopes (adding more expense) - the inner cnvelopes were too thick for the printer and the outer envelope was a weird size

anyway, we used font 22, but I can't remember the name of it

We are going to try to match the font on the invitations as best as possible. I am so not looking forward to printing these out!

I have that font too - it's called Bickham Script and it's AWESOME.

Practice on regular paper, or worse comes to worst, on JUST ONE envelope, that way you don't have too many screwups. The issue is figuring out which way the sheets print on *your* printer, because it changes depending on the printer. Write 'FRONT' on the page and an arrow pointing in the direction the page is feeding in, then look at your results - it FRONT is on the back when the page is printed, you have to turn your envelopes on the opposite side to get them on that side. If it's on the front, then keep it on that side. And then there's the flap issue - try it one way, then the other.

Good luck!

I used Word- Script MT Bold in 14 pt. I loved how it came out!
