Printing on envelopes for invitations - how did you do it?

I am trying but I don't think it's going to work - I cut out a bunch of pieces of paper as templates to practice but I can't seem to get everything centered correctly. How did you do it?

I found a template online for the envelopes we were using, and centered it using text boxes rather than the layout they provided.

Our printer lets us change the feed to fit the size we need, so it didnt go off track and angle *too* much

I created a new document in word and I made the paper size custom and made the paper exactly what my envelope was. I chose a really pretty yet legible font and I centered it just slightly to the bottom right of the page. Then I printed them, first on test paper (like you're doing) then on the envelopes.

I wasted maybe 2 envelopes trying to get it right (which was fine because I had extras).

I used a similar technique for printing on the inner envelopes, but instead of centering the text slightly to the bottom right, I centered it completely and printed it. I think they came out great.

I also printed our own escort cards.

It took a long time and a lot of fussing with the margins. Just keep using the same envelope again and again until you get it right that way you're not wasting anything or losing your mind trying to cut out templates. Our printer also adjusts to the size of the paper so that did help steady it.
