PRINTING ON INVITE ENVELOPES?

PRINTING ON INVITE ENVELOPES?

For those of you who are printing their guests addresses on their invitation envelopes. What is a good and fast program to do this? I was thinking of using Microsoft word because they have an area where you can print envelopes and labels. But I was wondering if there was an easier program I could use. Maybe one that lets me add a guest list in there and then gives me the option to implement the addresses onto envelopes? Is there such a program? lol

What if you use the mail merge option on Microsoft word?

I was thinking about using that but I wasn't sure if there was another program to use or would that be the best way.

originally I was considering printing the envelopes, but then I heard horror stories about the printers jamming. (Our envelopes have pre-printed return addresses so I only have 10% extra to mess around with).

We're resorting to hand addressing

I was scared at first but when I got my invites at Party City the manufacturer stylart manufacturer messed up the spacing. So party city said they had to fix the envelopes and invites for free. So in return party city let me keep the messed up invites and the messed up envelopes so those are the ones i'm gonna practice with. I guess it wasn't such a bad thing they got messed up..lol

you dont' have to hand address... i was worried about this too.... we bought CLEAR labels and printed the addresses on a nice font. since the labels were clear, it wasn't too noticeable.... better than messing up all the envelopes in the printer and i didnt' have the money for $2 and up per invite for calligrahpy

It's not as bad for us as you may think.... we only have about 50 invitations.... At this point, I'm all about dodging major aggravation!

I WILL be doing the programs on the computer however... I want to begin futzing with the template stuff today..

The mail merge option in word is the easiest way to have the addresses printed directly onto the envelopes.

Just make sure you have a good printer. It was a long project for me, my printer at home gave me a lot of problems and my printer at work could only do the outer envelopes.

Good luck!

Re: PRINTING ON INVITE ENVELOPES?

Good luck this was a pain in the *** for me...for e-party invites i ordered them online and they had the return address in gold metallic font, so when i needed to do the outgoing addresses i went to the store and they told me i should get the gold ink cartridge which i couldn't find and then they couldn't tell me which printer would print out the addresses in metallic...I needed to send them out right away though so i ended up buying a gold calligraphy pen and did it myself, it was a pain but i was surprised how beautiful they came out and adds a little bit of a personal touch...Don't know if you want to do that though, it was a bit annoying lol....Good luck

After that experience i decided for the wedding i will hire a callagraphist to save myself the trouble lol

Mail merge was extremely easy. I fed the envelopes one at a time and didn't have any problems whatsoever. I did use plain paper cut to envelope size to test it out first.

I'd do it again anytime.

You should type the list in Excel and then merge it over to word. It's really easy and excel is a great program to use
