When do you plan on/did you pack your hospital bag? I'm 34 weeks, so I am getting more and more anxious!!
Also, I know that this was posted before, but I can't find it in the archives---What do you pack in the hospital bag??
thank you.

Re: Probably been asked before but.....
I packed: 2 pairs of pjs. a few panties, socks, a parenting book or magazine to pass time , a pad and pen incase you have to write anything down, phone numbers of friends or family that you might want to call if youre bored. slippers, maybe slippers that you can wear in the shower, a comfy t-shirt/sweats outfit that you might want to wear if company comes and you dont want to be in pj's. any lotions or soaps that make you feel pampered for that FIRST REFRESHING SHOWER after giving birth, toothbrush, toothpaste, I think thats about it !
oh and a homecoming outfit for the baby, but you can leave that home and hubby can bring it the day he comes to pick you up!

Re: Probably been asked before but.....
I packed the same as above, but I also packed a baby bag too... With just the bring home outfit. I stuffed it with the hospital diapers and other freebies they gave me, including nipple cream... Definately helpful. I packed it about 34 weeks... Iwas anxious and lived with the attitude 'rather safe than sorry!! ' OH_ also make sure you pack several size underwear... Granny panties that you wouldnt mind getting ruined as well as other ones.. preggy ones and regular! I dont know if its been suggested, but depending on how you feel after birth, ask for extra witch hazel pads and cream... We had a problem finding their brands, then I found two that I placed in my Shower/ bathroom bag. Best wishes!

Other things I have heard to bring is maternity bras, snacks for the Daddy (since he might get hungry at some point), camera, film, batteries, video camera (charged with tape inside), Contact List, going home outfit for Mommy. Some people say to bring your own pillow and it helps you sleep better- some say it doesn't work, but it cannot hurt I guess. Oh, and your boppy pillow to help you nurse.

I would also throw in some giant sized sanitary napkins - the hospital ones aren't always the best 'brand'...so bring what you'd feel more secure with.
