What should I bring to Pre-Cana besides a pen, myself and FH? What did everyone where (really dumb, but I am curious) and finally what goes on during Pre-Cana? We are going tomorrow night and all day on Saturday and am very curious as to what to expect (and I am really nervous, stupid I know). We have had some bumps in the road with the Catholic Church and am hoping for smooth sailing! Thanks in advance for any answers you girls can give me!

You don't need anything except yourselves and pens.
Pre-cana really isn't bad. We had it Friday night and Saturday as well. The couple we had was great. They would tell us stories about their marriage and what worked for them and what didn't.
FH and I also had to fill out questionnaires. We had to answer the same questions but it was done independently and then we shared our answers. We learned a lot about ourselves, each other and actually some useful marriage tips.
Just go with an open mind and be really honest when you answer your questions!

I was a little nervous at first but everyone there is in the same boat as you. Have fun! For us it got to be a little tedious and VERY tiring (all that talking and listening) but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Oh, and for the record, I don't even think I brought a pen!

absolutely nothins. I just finished mine last week and I didnt even need to bring a pen they supplied them there.

Thanks girls! We are doing it in Lloyd Harbor so I figure that as tiring as it can be, we have dinner in Huntington afterwards to look foward to!

we did a weekend Engaged Encounter... they supplied the notebooks and pens.... dress casual. They would give talks and share stories and things about themselves (there were two host couples and a priest) and then we would write down ours feelings about different topics, each other, and questions, and then we'd go back in private with our fiance and discuss what we wrote.
This was mostly the format of the weekend, it was very tiring! We also had a group discussion where people could anonymously submit questions, and we wrote letters of 'promise' to each other. Overall it was a very good experience, FH and I grew even closer than we were before (and we've lived together for 3 years).
The only thing that irked me was one of the couples started giving a lecture about 'Natural Family Planning'. Which is fine, but she give some inaccurate statistics... I have my master's in public health, I had her number. That really upset me.
Oh, and I'm not Catholic (Presbyterian). Me and one other girl who was raised Buddhist were the only non-Catholics there, I was a little nervous! (although probably not as much as the other girl!)

LOL speak for your self we hated it. I just think we had bad luck, I know somepeople that went and loved it, but we didnt really learn anything. We just ****** it up for 4 weeks and are happy its over with

I got an email very shortly after signing up that it had moved so maybe it is possible you signed up after? Or maybe they just merged 2 sites? Either way, see you tomorrow!
