Probably stressing about this prematurely, but.....

I'm really worried about this whole American Airlines thing. We are supposed to fly on American to St. John on May 6. All of these cancellations this past week have me concerned. I’m worried that they will have lost so much money from this that they will need to cut back or cancel some of their routes, and ours could be one of them.

I know that I'm probably worrying about something I can't control, but I already broached the subject with FH of postponing our honeymoon...I dont want to rebook last minute on a different airline for an exorbitant price.

Tell me I'm just stressing for no reason.....

I wish I could appease you but I'm worrying about the same thing. We leave for our honeymoon on the 24th of this month and we're flying American, I'm scared $hitless, but I'm trying not to focus on it.

Did you use a travel agent? If so I'd get their opinion on this. Maybe they can rebook you on a different airline just in case!!!

Im using them in Oct.. Im hoping by then, 6months it should be clear..but you are a lot closer than that!!!!

I know, I am worried too, and we aren't even going anywhere til August! There was a guy on Good Day NY this morning talking about how there could still be problems, even then! I am going to FM my Travel Agent and get her input.

aww i am sorry it is good that you are taking precaution just in case- can you start researching back up airlines with similar itinerary just in case

I'd be stressing too. I think they are only having problems with the MD-80 planes (smaller ones).

Check on aa.com and track flights from the last few days that went to St. John and see if they actually flew there.

I was stressing about this too, since we're flying AA on April 28th! But although the number of flights being cancelled is a lot, just remember they are not all in NY! The bulk of the cancellations I heard were made in Chicago and Dallas which are two huge airline hubs. Also, like someone else pointed out, it isn't the big jets like 747s... they are the smaller size planes. I'm just crossing my fingers that we aren't affected!

I think it is a reasonable worry in this case , I would be concerned as well . This is one of those things that it beyond your control and when something is beyond our control , we have to just hope and pray that it will work out !

I know its hard, BUT Try and remain posititve as much as possible. I am sure they will have it worked out by then , and everything will be fine .

My FH told me this morning he was worried about the same thing. I was like hun our is 5 months way, chill out

I was worried too because we leave for our honeymoon May 6th as well....My dad told me that it isn't affecting the size plane we are flying on....
I hope he's right!!!

We're flying with them on the 18th to Antigua. We change in Puerto Rico and i think we get on a smaller plane. Are those the ones affected? This *****!

I agree with what alot of the girls have said - I would call ur travel agent if you used one.

Or I dont know about calling the airline itself but they prob wont help
