I FALL IN LOVE WITH A Jim Hjelm BM dress..however a bride on here FM me telling me she order the exact same dress for her BM and the alterations came out horrible. She said she couldn't even blame it on the alteration department because her BMs got them all fixed at different locations....so I am assuming it is the dress/quality. (the chest part of the dress looked too big/baggie)

The problem is the color theme of my wedding was chosen based on Jim Hjelm colors. (Apple Green) So I am trying to find another dress by him and hoping it was just that one dress that was a fluke....

So has anyone order this dress by Jim Hjelm....

i didn't order that dress in particular, but i did order a jim hjelm gown for another wedding and wasn't happy with it at all. i don't know if its the salon's fault or the designer, but i was measured for a size 12 and when it came in, it was about 5 inches from closing! i had to have a private seamstress add a panel into the dress so that it would fit me and it was a nightmare because the gown never again fit correctly.

other brides use jim hjelm though so my experience may have just been a fluke.

honestly, youd have to find the right tailor. if the other bride complained that the top was 'loose' that is an alteration issue, not a manufacturer issue. i know as my dad is a tailor. their dresses are beautiful, but yes i did hear their dresses run small. my sister used them for her wedding and my dress was fine, even needed to be taken in!

My girls didn't use that dress (very pretty btw) but we did use jim hjelm and they were absolutely perfect! My girls loved their dresses...which is unusual for BM dresses
