Problem with Ebay?

Problem with Ebay?

I won something on ebay on July 20th (first thing I have ever won!)...

I e-mailed the vendor about shipping costs that week and he asked for my address and said he'll get back to me. He never did so I sent him a reminder email and he emailed me back that he can't tell me the shipping charge yet because he has to get the item from his friend to weigh it.

I also bidded on something that matched what I had won - and I won that stuff also. So now it stinks because I have the matching things but not the original things.

Is this normal? What can I do?

that is not right.

i sell on Ebay and I always respond within a few days of the buyer.

Email him again that you want to know the shipping costs because you want your item

You request the sellers contact info from ebay, and call him. Try sending another email as well. If all else fails, you can file a complaint with ebay safe harbour, they will investigate, but it may take a bit of time. If you paid via paypal, you can file a complaint with them as well. They will check it out, and can get your money back if you never get your stuff.
How was his feedback? Maybe this is just a bad time, with summer vacations and all. Stay on him though!

Good luck!

Edited to say, I've bought alot of stuff on ebay, and only had a problem once. It's definitely not normal.

Debbie - it's not normal. Try and get his info or bombard with email. Sometimes tehre is a legit reason they didn't get back to you

The seller sounds kind of irresponsible. If you want a good rep on ebay, you shouldnt leave a buyer hanging. I'd contact him again and say you need to know. period.

I hope it all works out smoothly and quickly and that you are not discouraged from ebay, I like it for buying and selling. IMO, going forward, I suggest you to contact the seller before bidding to inquire about shipping costs. Sometimes people have ridiculous shipping costs. Or they do 'shipping and handling' charge, where charge you the post office shipping fee plus they tack a charge on for what they feel is their time and labor to pack it up and go to the post office.

HTH

Good luck.
